Programme Details

Diploma in Theology

Objective: This programme is designed for Christians who are called into the ministry, but lack educational requirements for the Degree Programme.

Duration: It is a three-year and four-year (Day, Weekend/Summer respectively) post-secondary level course of study for students who meets the general admission requirements.

Study Options:

Day Session: Classes hold Tuesdays through Fridays at the Seminary campus for three academic years

Weekend Session: Classes hold Fridays between 6:00p.m and 9.00p.m, and Saturdays 8.00am to 5:00p.m.  at the seminary campus for four academic years.

Summer Session: Classes hold from Monday 10.00a.m to Friday 6.00p.m between June and July. The programme holds at the Seminary campus for four academic years with two contacts beginning in June and ending in July. It is a six-weeks intensive class.

Additional Admission Requirements

  1. Four Credit passes for Diploma students (including English Language) WASSCE, SSSC, NABTEB, NECO, or GCE.
  2. An applicant who lacks the above but have attained the age of forty (40) and have at least three years experience in the ministry shall be considered for admission into the Diploma programme.
  3. The applicant must have a genuine salvation experience with promise of continual spiritual growth and potential for future usefulness in the church and society.
  4. An applicant must be personally committed to faith in Christ for not less than two years at the time of application submission, and must be a regular worshipper in a local church.
  5. An applicant must complete the admission process as stated on the Seminary portal.

Graduation Requirements

Ninety-six (96) credit units is required for graduation.  Candidates must have a pass of 96 credit hours with a grade-point average of at least 2.0 on the 4.0 scale, along with the spiritual, practical, and general graduation requirements.  The student must successfully complete Christian Service in a local church for each semester of enrolment plus one semester of attachment to a model church during the last two years of study. Certificates of attendance at the annual Spiritual Life Retreat must also be presented.
